Subway is one of the most popular fast food chains in the UK, with over 2,000 locations nationwide. One of its key selling points is the ability to customise your meal, choosing your bread, filling, sauce, and toppings. However, this flexibility makes it difficult to know exactly how many calories and macronutrients your meal contains without checking each component individually. This Subway nutrition calculator lets you build your meal step by step and instantly see the total calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrate content. Whether you are counting calories, tracking macros, or simply trying to make a healthier choice at lunchtime, this tool gives you a clear picture of what you are eating. All nutrition data is based on Subway UK published values, though actual values may vary slightly depending on the specific restaurant and preparation. Understanding the nutritional content of your meals is an important part of maintaining a balanced diet. The NHS Eatwell Guide recommends that adults consume around 2,000 kcal (women) or 2,500 kcal (men) per day. Knowing how a single meal fits into your daily allowance helps you make informed decisions about what to eat for the rest of the day.
To calculate the nutrition of your Subway meal: 1. Select your bread type and size. Options include 6-inch, Footlong, Flatbread, Wrap, or no bread (salad). Footlong options contain roughly double the calories and macros of a 6-inch sub. 2. Choose your filling from the dropdown. Popular options include Chicken Breast, Turkey Breast, Ham, Tuna, Steak and Cheese, Meatball Marinara, Italian B.M.T., and Veggie Delite. If your filling is not listed, select "Custom" and enter the nutrition values manually. 3. Select your sauce. Options range from no sauce to Mayonnaise, Light Mayonnaise, Southwest, Honey Mustard, and Sweet Onion. Sauces can add 30 to 100 calories to your meal. 4. Choose your cheese. American and Cheddar are available, or select "No cheese" to skip. 5. Review the results. The calculator displays total calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates for your complete meal, along with a bar chart showing the macro breakdown.
The calculator works by looking up the nutritional values for each component of your meal from built-in data tables and summing them together: Total Calories = Bread calories + Filling calories + Sauce calories + Cheese calories The same addition is applied for protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Each component's nutrition data comes from Subway UK's published nutrition guides. For 6-inch subs, the filling portion is a standard serving. Footlong bread options automatically double the bread nutrition values. The filling portion remains the same as a 6-inch sub unless you are ordering a Footlong (in which case you would typically get double the filling at the restaurant, but this calculator uses the standard single portion for accuracy). If you select "Custom" as your filling, the calculator uses your manually entered values for calories, protein, fat, and carbs instead of the built-in data. Fibre and micronutrients are not included in this simplified calculator. For a complete nutritional breakdown, refer to the Subway UK website or ask in-store for their full nutrition guide.

Nutrition values in this calculator are approximate and based on Subway UK published data. Actual values may vary depending on portion sizes, preparation methods, and regional differences. Vegetables and salad additions (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, peppers, onions) are not included in the calculation as they add minimal calories (typically under 10 kcal combined). If you have specific dietary requirements or food allergies, check with your local Subway restaurant for the most up-to-date allergen and nutrition information. The NHS recommends a balanced diet including plenty of fruit and vegetables, starchy carbohydrates, some dairy, protein, and small amounts of unsaturated fats.
